Online Saftey

On October 8, 2012, a senior from Milan High School was arrested for making bomb threats to the school on Facebook. As of Monday afternoon when he posted bail he could not come up with the 5,000 dollars. He was making threats to the PBL. Or Problem Based Learning. It states that the government cannot watch the internet unless a social problem is brought to their attention. This social media post was definitely brought to their attention.
Yes, threats like this should be taken seriously. If he is just messing around the community could still think he is being serious and could take it literally. He should definitely be punished no matter his age. He still made a threat to his community and school which is illegal, and consequences need to be taken to teach him what he did wrong. A fair and just punishment would be 30 days in jail, community service, and possibly probation. I believe he should be punished.
